56-Year-Old Man Arrested in Delta Hideout Raid, 21 Bags of Suspected Indian Hemp Seized

A 56-year-old man, Lucky Oyiboka, has been arrested after operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) raided a suspected criminal hideout in Owa-Abbi, Ukwani Local Government Area.

The police said the operation was conducted on August 8, 2026, following actionable intelligence. A search of the premises allegedly led to the recovery of 21 bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

Preliminary investigations reportedly linked Oyiboka to the alleged distribution of illicit drugs, while detectives are working to establish the extent of the operation and identify other persons who may be connected to the suspected drug network.

The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be charged to court after the investigation is concluded.
