Ethiope East LGA Tackles Security Challenges with Army Partnership

The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, has pledged stronger cooperation with the Nigerian Army to tackle security threats and protect lives and property across the area.

Ogedegbe made the commitment when the Commander, Officer-in-Charge of the 181 Nigerian Army unit in Abraka, Capt. M. Danjuma, paid him a courtesy visit at the council secretariat in Isiokolo.

The meeting focused on strengthening security coordination, intelligence sharing and community engagement, with both sides stressing the need for closer collaboration to prevent crime and maintain peace in Ethiope East.

Ogedegbe commended the military for its sacrifices and ongoing efforts to safeguard communities, assuring the Army of the council’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at improving security.

Capt. Danjuma thanked the council chairman for the reception and emphasised the importance of sustained cooperation between the military and local authorities in confronting emerging security challenges.

Both parties agreed to deepen their partnership, with a shared commitment to ensuring a safer and more stable Ethiope East.
