20-yr Old Commits Suicide After ‘Rape’ by Odogwu of Asaba

Twenty years-old Favour Agbro has committed suicide after being allegedly raped by a content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, in Delta state.

The incident came to limelight after the Delta State Police Command led by Yemi Oyeniyi, received a petition over the tragic incident and directed investigation of the claims.

The deceased, prior to her death, made a video recording in which she recounted her experience and the emotional distress she suffered following the incident. She had reported the incident to her parents.

She subsequently commited suicide by ingesting a toxic substance and later died despite efforts to save her life.

The deceased had travelled to Asaba on the invitation of the suspect who had offered to train her in content creation, but upon her arrivalon June 1, he allegedly raped her and subjected her to physical violence.

The suspect has been arrested and reportedly made useful statements to the Police, while further investigation continues.

The police commissioner has assured the family of the deceased and the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and that no aspect of the allegations will be overlooked.
