Sapele Horror: 3-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Bush with Body Brutalized

A three-year-old boy, identified as Lemuel, has been found dead in a bush near his family’s compound in Sapele, Delta State, hours after he reportedly left home to buy a snack.

Lemuel was said to have collected money from his mother at about 11 a.m. on Monday to make a purchase around Uko Road, behind Bunex Filling Station, but never returned home.

His body was reportedly discovered around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday in a bush close to his father’s compound, with the family alleging that he had suffered severe injuries.

The incident has sparked grief and concern in the community, with the family contacting security operatives, who have commenced investigation.

The family later reported that a suspect believed to be connected to the child’s death had been arrested. They alleged that blood stains believed to be linked to Lemuel were traced from the scene to the suspect’s residence.

There are also unverified reports that investigators allegedly found children’s school uniforms, blood and a pit at the suspect’s residence, as well as claims that the suspect may have used one of the rooms as a makeshift slaughter area. Allegations that the child’s vital organs were removed have also emerged.

These claims have not been independently verified and should form part of the ongoing investigation.

Lemuel, who was reportedly his father’s only son after two daughters, was laid to rest on Tuesday as the family mourned the loss and awaited answers from investigators.
