Shettima Proceeds on First Official Leave Since Taking Office

Vice President Kashim Shettima has commenced a two-week leave following approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, marking his first official leave since assuming office on May 29, 2023.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Vice President on Thursday, the leave, which began on August 6, will be used for study, reflection and intellectual renewal.

The statement said the period will also allow the Vice President to review the administration’s ongoing programmes and deepen his understanding of emerging national and global policy issues.

The statement added that Shettima is expected to resume his official duties at the end of the two-week leave.
