Teacher’s Assault Sparks Fresh School Discipline Drive in Delta

The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, has renewed the campaign against school indiscipline following the alleged assault of the Vice Principal (Academics) of Owhrode Mixed Secondary School, Mrs. Justina Mokpe, by the parents of a student, Angela Chavwuko.
The incident ended with Angela and her parents apologising to Mrs. Mokpe during Monday’s (July 13) school assembly, while the student was disciplined with 12 strokes of the cane administered by the school’s Parents Teachers Association chairman, Comrade Blessing Jegwe.
The school’s Principal, Mrs. Beauty Faka, and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Udu Branch, Comrade Johnbull Gbejegbe, commended the council’s intervention, describing it as a strong message against violence towards teachers and in support of discipline in schools.
