Ugbajo Itsekiri UK Unveils Fresh Push for Iwereland Renewal

Ugbajo Itsekiri United Kingdom has launched a fresh drive to support the renewal of Iwereland through leadership development, healthcare interventions and strategic community partnerships.

The President of the organisation, Mr. Mejebi Eyewuoma, disclosed this at the group’s 13th Annual Gala and Charity Night 2026, where he said collective responsibility remained critical to addressing the development challenges facing Itsekiri communities.

Eyewuoma said the organisation’s maiden Leadership Summit, with the theme, “Rebuilding Iwereland Through Visionary Leadership and Collective Responsibility,” would provide a platform for progressive Oma-Iwere to develop strategies for community renewal.

He said discussions at the summit would focus on strategic resettlement, sustainable economic growth and wealth creation, human capital development, youth empowerment, and the security of lives, property and critical assets.

The organisation is also set to provide free healthcare services as part of activities marking the coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR. The intervention will include free reading glasses, cataract surgical interventions, essential medications and general medical consultations.

He called for stronger collaboration among individuals, organisations and other stakeholders, stressing that partnerships would help expand the reach and impact of development initiatives in Iwereland.

Eyewuoma urged members and well-wishers to support the organisation’s humanitarian programmes, saying the ultimate objective was to build stronger communities and create “a happier, more prosperous future for our people.”
