2027: Ukodhiko Rallies Support for Tinubu, Oborevwori, Says APC Reforms Need More Time

Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, saying the party’s ongoing reforms require continuity to achieve their intended results.

Ukodhiko made the appeal in Abuja while hosting members of the Isoko Engineering Community who were in the Federal Capital Territory for the 34th Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) Engineering Assembly.

Speaking during the meeting, the lawmaker said engineering remains a vital profession for national development, stressing that engineers play a critical role in delivering quality infrastructure and driving innovation across the country.

He also urged members of the profession to advocate for engineering institutions to be led by qualified professionals capable of upholding industry standards.

Reflecting on his dual career in engineering and politics, Ukodhiko described public office as an opportunity to serve rather than a lifelong pursuit, adding that his priority remains delivering meaningful representation and lasting value to his constituents.

On national issues, the federal lawmaker defended the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, including the removal of fuel subsidy, describing the policy as a difficult but necessary decision to address long-standing structural challenges facing the country’s economy.

According to him, resources saved from the subsidy removal are being channelled into infrastructure and other key development projects aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

He pointed to the rehabilitation of the East-West Road, construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, reforms in the power sector, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and ongoing discussions on state policing as evidence of the Federal Government’s development agenda.

Ukodhiko urged Nigerians to remain patient with the administration and support the APC in the 2027 elections to ensure continuity of its policies and programmes.

As part of his engagement with the engineering community, the lawmaker also pledged to build a permanent secretariat for the Isoko Engineers’ body to provide the association with a dedicated office and strengthen professional collaboration.

Responding on behalf of the delegation, Engr. Paulina Ereremena Amudede thanked Ukodhiko for hosting the engineers and commended his representation of the Isoko Federal Constituency.

Other members of the delegation also praised the lawmaker for projects executed in the constituency, particularly educational infrastructure in Olomoro community, describing his interventions as beneficial to the people.
