Oborevwori Rewards World Spelling Bee Champion With ₦20m

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has rewarded Master Great Chinedu Okediashi with ₦20 million for winning the 2026 World Spelling Bee Championship in China.

The governor presented the cash reward on Friday in Asaba while receiving the championship trophy from the student and officials of the Ministry of Secondary Education at the Government House.

Oborevwori said the achievement was a testament to Delta State’s continued investment in education, adding that the government would also support the student’s school, Madonna International School.

The governor commended Okediashi’s parents and teachers for their roles in his success, while the student thanked the state government for its support and pledged to continue bringing honour to Delta State and Nigeria.
